印尼的政治图景在我们眼前变迁。

在一个月时间内，雅加达的首位华人市长（雅京特区省长）钟万学（Basuki Tjahaja Purnama，人称“阿学”Ahok）被解职并以渎神罪逮捕。与此同时，141名男性在雅加达的一家桑拿被捕，并在入狱前被脱光衣服游街示众。在实行伊斯兰法的亚齐省，两名男子因同性恋被判渎神罪，并被处鞭刑83次。

而同时在日惹举办的“艺术日惹”已经举办了第十年，成为了中部爪哇乃至可能整个东南亚最受欢迎的艺术节。虽然主展览中很少有当代艺术直接跟政治相关，日惹城市中的画廊和工作室却表达出了主流当代艺术中所没有的更自由激进的观点。

本次讲述将围绕日惹艺术简史和当下政治语境中其发展的方向展开。

The political landscape of Indonesia is changing before our eyes. 

Within the span of a month, the first ethnic Chinese governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama known as "Ahok," has been disposed and arrested with charges of blasphemy. Meanwhile, 141 men were arrested in a sauna in Jakarta and paraded naked on the streets before they were imprisoned. Two men in Aceh, a land that practices Shariah law, charged two men with blasphemy for practicing homosexuality and were caned 83 times. 

Meanwhile in Yogyakarta, ArtJog, now in its tenth year, has become the most popular art festival in Central Java and possibly Southeast Asia. Although very few of the contemporary art presented within the main exhibition are explicitly political, the galleries and studios throughout the city express a more liberal and radical point of view that isn’t present in the mainstream. This lecture will review a short history of art in Yogyakarta and where it is headed within the context of current political landscapes.
